Architecture that shaped Ljubljana and
Urban Boutique Hotel

The building that houses the hotel was constructed in 1932, based on the designs of architect Jože Sivec, a graduate of the Vienna Academy, who brought the spirit of functionalism to Ljubljana, enriched with a touch of urban elegance.

Sivec worked in a time when architecture stood at the intersection of old and new – balancing ornate decoration with a growing demand for light, simplicity, and comfort. He is known for numerous projects across Ljubljana that became not only places to live, but lasting architectural symbols of their era.

Today, the building is listed in the cultural heritage register, meaning that every guest steps into a space where the walls carry their own story. In every corner, you can feel that you are staying in a building that was part of the evolution of Ljubljana’s architectural and urban identity.

What a fantastic hotel!
My partner and I travel frequently and always do thorough research when choosing where to stay – we usually avoid large hotel chains.
We discovered this hotel, read the reviews, and booked a four-night stay. We couldn’t have been happier. The hotel has around 30–35 rooms. The rooms are spacious, with high ceilings and large windows overlooking a small green area, away from the main roads. The interior is beautiful.
After booking, you’re guided through a pre-check-in process, which makes arrival quick and seamless. We arrived early and had requested an early check-in – our room was already ready. All staff speak excellent English, and they are friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was fantastic. The hotel is also very well located in Ljubljana.
I highly recommend staying here. Thank you, Urban Hotel!

In September 2025, we stayed at Urban Boutique Hotel for two nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is very reasonably priced and offers excellent value for money.
The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating – when we arrived late, around midnight, they provided clear instructions for a smooth and easy check-in. On the day of departure, they kindly prepared an early breakfast for us so we could eat before our morning flight.
Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection to start the day. The location is perfect for exploring the charming city centre of Ljubljana.
Our only regret is that we didn’t plan more time to enjoy this beautiful city. Highly recommended!
